MIzan Therapy is a combined therapy of traditional reproductive health techniques, used to guide the womb to its optimum position, to address digestive conditions and help emotional wellbeing. Women have used traditional reproductive health techniques such as these, for many moons, in many corners of the world, especially india and further east. Menstruation, fertility, birth and menopause have all been honored and celebrated over time, the womb and it’s wonders given respect and honor by others. Due to many contemporary diseases, lack of self-care, pressure and stresses of family, work or daily life this celebrated organ, can be and is quite often, moved out of place, resulting in a multitude of reproductive complaints. The uterus is held in place by muscles and ligaments that can become contracted or overstretched, allowing the womb to move out of its optimum position. There are different types and grades of a tilted womb, some needing more help than others. By helping the womb once again reach its optimum position many conditions will start to disappear and balance will be returned.
‘I did not pass by an Angel from the Angels on the Night Journey except that they all said to me; ‘Upon you is Hijama cupping, O Muhammad’.(Saheeh Sunan ibn Maajah -3477) Cupping therapy is the name of the actual procedure itself. A vacuum is created in a cup and placed on the body. This vacuum causes a negative pressure and pulls the muscles into the cup and therefore, draws the blood to the cupped area. This is known as “dry cupping”. Then you remove the cup in order to make small, shallow incisions in that same area, before putting the cup back on. This pulls out the toxic blood, acids and excess fluids from the body. This is known as “Wet Cupping or Blood Cupping.” “Hijama” from Arabic means sucking, and in Islamic world view is recognized as Sunnah (religious procedure) Hijama Cupping is an excellent form of preventative and curative therapy.
